ALZ004>006-008-182000- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BIRMINGHAM AL 145 PM CDT THU JUN 18 1992 ...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF NORTH ALABAMA UNTIL 7PM CDT... AT 140 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED A LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS NORTHWEST ALABAMA. THIS LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL INTENSIFY AS IT MOVES TO THE EAST-SOUTHEAST AT ABOUT 30 MPH. THESE STORMS WILL MOVE INTO THE WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA COUNTIES OF MARION...WINSTON AND CULLMAN BY 3 PM CDT. THE STRONGER STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING STRONG GUSTY WINDS...HEAVY RAIN.... DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND POSSIBLY HAIL. ELSEWHERE...AN ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM HAD DE_VELOPED OVER PICKENS COUNTY NEAR ALICEVILLE.
