THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ALBANY NY  HAS ISSUED A
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  830 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...S...
 
IN EAST NEW YORK
 
   ...GREENE COUNTY
 
IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK
 
   ...ULSTER COUNTY
 
RAINFALL AMOUNTS OVERNIGHT HAVE EXCEEDED THREE INCHES AT TANNERSVILLE
AND AT MOUNT TREMPER. THIS IS IN EXCESS OF THE 2.9 INCHES OF RAIN OVER
A TWENTY-FOUR HOUR PERIOD THAT WOULD TRIGGER FLOODING. THE RIVER GAGE
ON THE ESOPUS CREEK WAS AT 10.2 FEET AT TWO O CLOCK. THAT IS LESS THAN
A FOOT BELOW FLOOD STAGE...AND SOME ADDED RAIN WILL BRING THE CREEK
OVER ITS BANKS.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
