AT 420 PM...NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS...SOME SEVERE WERE LOCATED ACROSS SOUTHERN AND NORTHEASTERN KANSAS. A RAPIDLY DEVELOPING THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED 25 MILES SOUTHWEST OF GREAT BEND...MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH. THIS STORM WILL BE NEAR GREAT BEND BY 5PM. STRONG GUSTY WINDS...HEAVY RAIN AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING WILL ACCOMPANY THIS STORM. OTHER THUNDERSTORMS WERE SOUTHEAST OF A LINE FROM NEAR TOPEKA TO EMPORIA. THE STORN WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH AND WILL BE IN THE GREAT BEND AREA BY 515 PM CST. OTHER THUNDERSTORMS WERE 15 MILES SOUTHEAST OF GREAT BEND AND WILL MOVE TO 10 MILES WEST OF LYONS BY 5:15 PM CST. HOWEVER... A TORNADO WATCH CONTINUES ACROSS MOST OF NORTHEAST AND EAST-CENTRAL KANSAS UNTIL 10PM. PEOPLE IN NORTHEAST AND EAST-CENTRAL KANSAS SHOULD CONTINUE TO WATCH WEATHER DEVELOPMENTS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS CONSIDERING THIS TORNADO WATCH. AT 6PM WEATHER RADAR SHOWED THUNDERSTORMS FROM ABOUT 20 MILES NORTHEAST OF TOPEKA IN EASTERN ATCHISON COUNTY TO ABOUT 20 MILES SOUTHEAST OF LAWRENCE NEAR PAOLA.
