...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH FOR CENTRAL AND WESTERN WEST VIRGINIA
UNTIL 800 PM EDT...

AT 500 PM WEATHER SERVICE RADAR AT BECKLEY SHOWED THUNDERSTORMS
CONTINUING TO MOVE THROUGH SOUTHERN WEST VIRGINIA AT AROUND 15 MPH.
THE HEAVIEST OF THE STORMS WERE OVER SOUTHERN RALEIGH AND NORTHERN
MERCER COUNTIES AND OVER EASTERN MONROE COUNTY.

PERSONS SHOULD BE ALERT FOR BRIEF VERY HEAVY RAIN..HAIL..GUSTY WINDS AND
DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. HEAVY RAIN MAY CAUSE SOME PONDING OF WATER ON
ROADWAYS AND IN POOR DRAINAGE AREAS.

IF THREATNING WEATHER APPROACHES MOVE TO A SAFE SHELTER AWAY FROM WINDOWS
AND ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES.

500 PM EDT SUN JUN 2 1991

AT 500 PM THE WEATHER RADAR IN CHARLESTON SHOWED A STRONG THUNDERSTORM
DEVELOPING OVER PLEASANTS COUNTY WEST VIRGINIA.  SMALL HAIL AND
LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED WITH THIS STORM WITH PONDING OF
WATER ON ROADS.  IN ADDITION, THE THUNDERSTORMS WHICH WENT THROUGH
SOUTHERN PLEASANTS AND NORTHERN WOOD COUNTIES EARLIER BROUGHT SOME
HEAVY RAIN TO THAT AREA.  THE ADDITIONAL RAINFALL EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT HOUR IN PLEASANTS COUNTY WILL BRING STREAMS AND CREEKS UP BUT NO
SIGNIFICANT FLOODING PROBLEMS ARE EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

THIS STORM WILL DRIFT SOUTHEASTWARD INTO RIT0CHIE COUNTY BY 530 PM.
