238 PM MST SAT AUG 10 1991

...THUNDERSTORMS IN ARIZONA...

EXTENSIVE CLOUDINESS DELAYED THE DEVELOPMENT OF THUNDERSTORMS TODAY.
HOWEVER...BY 2.30 PM THUNDERSTORMS WERE WIDESPREAD IN THE WESTERN
MOGOLLON RIM INCLUDING FLAGSTAFF AND WILLIAMS...AND IN MAMMOTH TO
WINKELMAN AREA.

A PUBLIC REPORT FROM WINKELMAN AT 2.15 PM INDICATED STRONG WINDS AND
HEAVY RAIN BEGAN SHORTLY AFTER 2 PM. RAINFALL AT THE FLAGSTAFF AIRPORT
WAS ONLY A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH UP TO 2 PM.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE LIKELY TO BE SPREAD OVER MUCH OF THE STATE THE
REMAINDER OF THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.  SOME STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO
BE ACCOMPANIED BY STRONG WINDS AND HEAVY RAINS.

MOTORISTS SHOULD BE CAREFUL NOT TO CROSS ANY FLOODED HIGHWAY DIPS.
PEOPLE WHO ARE OUTSIDE SHOULD TAKE COVER WHEN LIGHTNING THREATENS.
THESE...AND OTHER SAFETY PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE OBSERVED DURING STORMY
WEATHER.
