000 TTAA00 KMSP 131840 SVRMSP MNC003-131915- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MINNEAPOLIS MN 140 PM CDT THU JUN 13 1991 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MINNEAPOLIS HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 215 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA ...ANOKA COUNTY AT 130 PM CDT THIS THURSDAY AFTERNOON A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAUSED TREE DAMAGE IN THE CITY OF CHAMPLIN ABOUT 25 MILES NORTHWEST OF MINNEAPOLIS. THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WILL ENTER ANOKA COUNTY SHORTLY. CITIES IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM ARE ANOKA..COON RAPIDS...BLAINE AND ST FRANCIS. SHOULD SEVERE WEATHER APPROACH SEEK SAFE SHELTER IMMEDIATELY. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIDE...SEEK SHELTER FROM THE WEATHER IN A STRONG BUILDING. DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN... STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN WERE DEVELOPING VERY RAPIDLY IN AN ENVIRONMENT OF EXPLOSIVE PROPORTIONS. STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE SITUTATED ON THE WEST AND NORTHWEST OF THE DOWNTOWN AREA ACROSS WESTERN HENNEPIN AND EASTERN WRIGHT COUNTIES. THESE STORMS DEFINATELY HAVE THE POTIENTAL FOR HEAVY DOWNPOURS AND MAY PRODUCE SOME HAIL. DANGEROUS LIGHTNING STRIKES ARE ALSO INDICATED WITH THESE STORMS. THESE THUNDERSTORMS ELEMENTS HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED BY HENNEPIN COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT. ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO DEVELOP SOUTH OF THE METROPOLITIAN AREA AND WILL BE ENTERING SOUTHERN SCOTT COUNTY BY 1230 PM CDT. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE INTO CARVER COUNTY...THE SITE OF THE U.S. OPEN. HAIL...FREQUENT DANGEROUS LIGHTNING...STRONG WINDS AND VERY HEAVY RAINS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER PORTIONS OF CARVER COUNTY BY 1245 PM. BE PREPARED TO SEEK SAFE SHELTER IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES.
