000 TTAA00 KMOB 051839 SVRMOB ALC129-051930- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MOBILE AL 138 PM CDT SUN MAY 5 1991 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MOBILE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 230 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA ...WASHINGTON COUNTY AT 140 PM CDT RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WEST OF CHATOM. THE STORM WAS MOVING TO THE EAST AT EAST AT 30 MPH. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. FOR YOUR PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS. HEAVY RAINS FLOOD ROADS QUICKLY SO DON'T DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.

NO SEVERE WEATHER HAS OCCURED IN SOUTHWEST ALABAMA OR SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI THIS MORNING. AT 12 NOON THE MOBILE RADAR SHOWED A LARGE AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTHEAST MISSISSIPPI NORTH AND WEST OF A LINE FROM GULFPORT MISSISSIPPI TO STATELINE MISSISSIPPI. THE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH. THESE STORMS WILL LIKELY PRODUCE STRONG GUSTY WINDS...DANGEROUS LIGHTENING...HEAVY RAIN...AND POSSIBLE SMALL HAIL.
