...A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA
   UNTIL 10 AM THIS MORNING...

AT 425 AM...THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN WERE OVER SOUTHERN RAPIDES
PARISH...AND OVER THE GULF 30 MILES SOUTHWEST OF PECAN ISLAND AND 25 MILES
EAST OF GALVESTON.   THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE PART OF A LARGER AREA OF
THUNDERSTORMS AND RAIN THAT COVERED MUCH CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA
AND THE COASTAL AREA OF THE UPPER TEXAS COAST.   THIS AREA EXTENDED OVER
THE GULF TO OVER 125 MILES BETWEEN FREEPORT TEXAS AND ATCHAFALAYA BAY.

MOVEMENT WAS NORTHEAST AT 35 MILES AN HOUR.
