THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 815 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY

   IN THE SOUTHWEST PART OF NEBRASKA
      NORTHWEST LINCOLN

AT 735 PM CDT A SPOTTER REPORTED A POSSIBLE FUNNEL CLOUD AND 50 TO
60 MPH WINDS 6 MILES NORTH OF SUTHERLAND NE...WHICH IS 20 WEST OF
NORTH PLATTE. THESE FUNNELS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH

IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE IS IN
A BASEMENT.  GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE.
IF NO BASEMENT IS AVAILABLE...FIND SHELTER IN AN INTERIOR ROOM
SUCH AS A CLOSET ON THE LOWEST FLOOR.  USE BLANKETS...PILLOWS...
OR CUSHIONS TO COVER YOUR BODY.  AVOID WINDOWS.

AT 205 PM CDT A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS CENTERED BETWEEN MULLEN AND
THEDFORD OR ABOUT 55 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF VALENTINE.  THIS
THUNDERSTORM CONTINUES TO MOVE RAPIDLY NORTH NORTHEAST AND WILL BE
MOVING INTO SOUTHERN CHERRY COUNTY BY 215 PM CDT.  SO FAR ONLY BRIEF
HEAVY RAIN HAS BEEN REPORTED WITH THIS THUNDERSTORM HOWEVERM THE MAIN
PART OF THE THUNDERSTORM IS OVER OPEN COUNTRY.

BRIEF HEAVY RAIN ALONG WITH SOME SMALL HAIL IS LIKELY AS THIS
THUNDERSTORM CONTINUES TO MOVE NORTH NORTHEAST AT 35 MILES AN HOUR.

COUNTY OR 57 MILES EAST OF ALLIANCE TO 30 MILES NORTHWEST OF
OGALLALA IN KIETH COUNTY OR 50 MILES WEST OF NORTH PLATTE.
THE SHOWERS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR.

THE SHOWERS WAS IN A 10 MILE BAND FROM 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MULLEN
IN HOOKER COUNTY OR 53 MILES SOUTH SOUTHWEST OF VALENTINE TO
10 MILES SOUTHWEST OF ARTHUR IN ARTHUR COUNTY OR 55 MILES
WEST NORTH WEST OF NORTH PLATTE. THESE SHOWERS WERE MOVING
NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR.

NO SEVERE WEATHER WAS OCCURING IN THE WATCH AREA IN SOUTHWEST

INTO SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA. A 60 MILE BAND OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS
EXTENDING FROM 20 MILES NORTH OF OGALLALA IN KEITH COUNTY OR 60
MILES WEST OF NORTH PLATTE TO 20 MILES SOUTHWEST OF IMPERIAL
IN CHASE COUNTY OR 65 MILES SOUTHWEST OF NORTH PLATTE.
THIS BAND OF THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH.

BRIEF HEAVY RAIN..GUSTY SURFACE WINDS AND HAIL WITH THESE
THUNDERSTORMS. IF THLREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES GO TO A
