THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1200 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES

   IN THE NORTHEAST PART OF NEBRASKA
      PIERCE...NORTHERN WAYNE...SOUTHERN CEDAR

AT 845 THIS EVENING NORFOLK RADAR CONTINUED TO INDICATE A LINE
OF LOCALLY INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM NEAR TILDEN...
20 MILES WEST OF NORFOLK...ACROSS PIERCE COUNTY INTO THE LAUREL
AND WAYNE AREA...ABOUT 30 MILES NORTHEAST OF NORFOLK.  THESE STORMS
HAVE BEEN PERSISTENT IN THE SAME AREA FOR SEVERAL HOURS...AND OVER
2 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN AT LAUREL AND SOME OTHER LOCATIONS.
LOGAN CREEK...NEAR LAUREL...WAS RISING RAPIDLY DUE TO THESE RAINS.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOOD WATERS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED...
ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

 ANY OF THE DRAINAGES WEST THROUGH NORTH OF PIERCE COULD WELL SEE
 FLOODING AS WELL...IN ADDITION TO DOG CREEK AND OTHER DRAINAGES
 IN NORTHERN WAYNE COUNTY.
