THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN EVANSVILLE HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  900 PM CST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTHEAST ILLINOIS
 
   ...EDWARDS COUNTY...WABASH COUNTY...WHITE COUNTY
 
AT 654 PM CST...RADAR INDICATED STRONG THUNDERSTORMS 30 MILES WEST OF
EVANSVILLE INDIANA. THE HEAVIEST RAINS WERE OCCURRING FROM JUST WEST
OF OMAHA ILLINOIS TO NEAR CROSSVILLE ILLINOIS. THE ILLINOIS STATE POLICE
REPORTED THAT THE AREA MOST AFFECTED WAS HIGHWAY 45 NORTH OF ENFIELD
ILLINOIS. THEY ALSO REPORT NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS IN THE AREA.
 
THE HEAVY RAIN WILL CONTINUE IN WHITE...EDWARDS AND WABASH COUNTY FOR
AT LEAST ANOTHER HOUR. PEOPLE IN THESE COUNTIES SHOULD MOVE TO HIGHER
GROUND AS WATER THREATENS.
 
 
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATEPR COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
