...TORNADO WATCH IN EFFECT FOR PARTS OF EAST AND SOUTHEAST TEXAS...

THE TORNADO WATCH INCLUDES THE HOUSTON METROPOLITIN AREA AND THE COUNTIES
OF HARRIS...WALKER...GRIMES...SAN JACINTO...WALLER...MONTGOMERY...
AUSTIN...WASHINGTON...TRINITY...AND HOUSTON UNTIL 900 PM.

AT 505 PM WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATES A BAND OF HEAVY SHOWERS AND
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM EAST OF AUSTIN ACROSS HOUSTON
COUNTY TO NORTHEAST OF THE TOLEDO BEND RESERVOIR.  THIS BAND IS MOVING
THE EAST AT 30 MPH.

A TORNADO WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR STORMS WHICH
PRODUCE TORNADOES.  HEAVY RAIN...DANGEROUS LIGHTNING...GUSTY WIND AND
SMALL HAIL CAN BE EXPECTED AS THESE THUNDERSTORMS MOVE ACROSS THE AREA.

PERSONS IN THE WATCH AREA SHOULD BE ALERT FOR RAPID DEVELOPING WEATHER
AND BE PREPARED TO SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY IF A WARNING IS ISSUED
