AT 240 PM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR IN ATLANTA INDICATED THAT THUNDERSTORMS AND SHOWERS WERE DEVELOPING OVER NORTHWEST GEORGIA. THE STRONGEST STORMS WERE NEAR BROOKS AND VAUGHN IN SOUTH FAYETTE COUNTY... AND 15 MILES WEST OF WILLIAMSON IN NORTH MERIWETHER COUNTY. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST NEAR 20 MPH. THE STORMS HAVE BEEN ACCOMPANIED BY HEAVY RAIN...GUSTY WIND AND INTENSE LIGHTNING. CONVECTIVE ACTIVITY WILL CONTINUE OVER NORTHWEST GEORGIA WITH FURTHER DEVELOPMENT EXPECTED EXPECTED DURING THE AFTERNOON.
