THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ATLANTA  HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  815 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTHWEST GEORGIA
 
   ...DEKALB COUNTY
 
RADAR INDICATED A THUNDERSTORM HAS BEEN NEARLY STATIONARY OVER WESTERN
DEKALB COUNTY IN THE TOCO HILLS AND LAVISTA AREA FOR THE PAST HOUR.
SOME AREAS HAVE PROBABLY RECEIVED TWO TO THREE INCHES OF
RAIN...CAUSING CREEKS AND STREAMS TO OVERFLOW THEIR BANKS. IN ADDITION
INTERSECTIONS WILL BECOME FLOODED.
 
THE STORM IS DRIFTING ONLY SLOWLY TO THE SOUTHWEST...BUT SHOULD WEAKEN
WITHIN THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO.
 
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
