...A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST IOWA
UNTIL 9 PM...

AT 432 PM...A 20 MILE WIDE BAND OF SCATTERED VERY INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS
EXTENDED FROM SOUTH CENTRAL INTO NORTH CENTRAL IOWA.  THE STORMS WERE
LOCATED FROM 30 MILES EAST OF LAMONI...TO 40 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MASON
CITY NEAR EAGLE GROVE.  THESE STORMS HAVE BEEN PRODUCING PEA TO MARBLE
SIZE AND LARGER HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN AND FREQUENT DEADLY LIGHTNING.

THE STORMS WERE PART OF AN AREA OF SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
OVER THE WEST TWO THIRDS OF IOWA...GENERALLY WEST OF A LINE F2ROM OTTUMWA
TO WATERLOO.

THE SHOWERS AND STORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35 MILES AN HOUR.

...A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 CST FOR CENTRAL IOWA...

AT 5 PM SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE OCCURRING FROM MASON CITY
THROUGH THROUGH HAMPTON TO JUST WEST OF GRUNDY CENTER. THE STRONGEST
STORM WAS LOCATED 5 MILES NORTHWEST OF HAMPTON....20 MILES SOUTH OF
MASON CITY. HOWEVER STRONGER STORMS WERE BEGINNING TO MOVE INTO GRUNDY
COUNTY...25 MILES WEST OF WATERLOO. THESE STORMS MAY PRODUCE SOME
SMALL HAIL...GUSTY WINDS AND DANGEROUS CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING
STROKES.

THROUGH 6 PM THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL EFFECT GRUNDY CENTER
...PARKERSBURG...MARBLE ROCK AND OSUAGE.

REMEMBER A TORNADO WATCH IS IN EFFECT AND ANY OF THESE STORMS MAY
SPAWN A TORNADO IN A MOMENTS NOTICE. SO BE ALERT!

AT 510 PM...A 10 MILE WIDE LINE OF INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS WAS LOCATED
FROM SOUTHEAST INTO NORTH CENTRAL IOWA.  THE STORMS EXTENDED FROM 25
MILES SOUTH OF OTTUMWA AT MOULTON...TO 25 MILES SOUTH OF MASON CITY.
THESE STORMS HAVE BEEN PRODUCING PEA TO MARBLE SIZE AND LARGER HAIL...
VERY HEAVY RAIN AND FREQUENT DEADLY LIGHTNING.

IN ADDITION...SHOWERS WERE OCCURRING OVER PARTS OF WEST CENTRAL AND
NORTHWEST IOWA.

THE SHOWERS AND STORMS WERE MOVING MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES_ AN HOUR.

SHOWERS AND INTENSE THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE MOVING ACROSS NORTHERN
AND EASTERN IOWA THROUGH 615 PM.
