WYZ016-017-022345- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHEYENNE WY 457 PM MDT SUN JUN 2 1991 ...THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUED TO INTENSIFY OVER SOUTHEAST WYOMING AT 455 PM... SCATTERED STORMS HAD DEVELOPED OVER MUCH OF SOUTHEAST WYOMING LATE THIS AFTERNOON. THE STORMS WERE MOST NUMEROUS IN LARAMIE COUNTY...ESPECIALLY IN EASTERN SECTIONS. THEY WERE MOVING NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 25 MILES AN HOUR. THE STRONGEST STORM WAS 25 TO 35 MILES EAST OF CHEYENNE...NEAR PINE BLUFFS. A LARGE THUNDERSTORM COMPLEX IN FAR NORTHERN COLORADO WAS ALSO APPROACHING LARAMIE COUNTY FROM THE SOUTH AT 450 PM. SO FAR... ONLY PEA SIZE HAIL AND BRIEF HEAVY RAIN HAVE BEEN REPORTED WITH THESE THUNDERSTORMS. PEOPLE IN SOUTHEAST WYOMING SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HAIL...HEAVY RAIN...AND DEADLY LIGHTNING. A SEVERE THUNDER- STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM. ALSO...A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM. IFN THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES...GO TO A SAFE PLACE AND WAIT FOR THE STORMS TO PASS. THE HEAVY RAINS MAY CAUSE FLOODING OF STREAMS AND LOW LYING AREAS. JAD
