SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1230 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...
 
IN  NEW YORK
          ...CHAUTAUQUA
 
AT 1125PM A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS STRECTHED FROM SOUTHERN
ONTARIO...ACROSS LAKE ERIE TO NEAR ERIE PENNSYLVANIA. WINDS GUSTED
TO OVER 70 MPH WHEN THE THUNDERSTORMS PASSED OVER ERIE AT 1114PM.
THE STORMS WILL MOVE INTO CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY BETWEEN 1130 AND 1145PM.
 
 
BE ON THE ALERT FOR THUNDERSTORMS ACCOMPANIED BY FREQUENT
LIGHTNING...STRONG DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL.  LOCALLY HEAVY
RAIN MAY ALSO CAUSE DRAINAGE FLOODING.

THUNDERSTORMS WILL RUMBLE ACROSS PARTS OF WESTERN NEW YORK OVERNIGHT...

NOCTURNAL THUNDERSTORMS MAY ONCE AGAIN STARTLE WESTERN NEW YORKERS DURING
THE "WEE" HOURS...MUCH AS THEY DID SATURDAY NIGHT. AT 10PM A LINE OF
THUNDERSTORMS STRECTHED ACROSS LAKE ERIE...WEST OF CLEVELAND. THEY WERE
MOVING TO THE EAST-SOUTHEAST AT 50 MPH. IF THEY HOLD TOGETHER...THEY WILL
ENTER WESTERN NEW YORK BETWEEN 1 AND 3AM.

THE STORMS PRODUCED WINDS OF OVER 60MPH AS THEY MOVED ACROSS LOWER
MICHIGAN AND NORTHERN INDIANA. THOUGH THEY SHOW SOME SIGNS OF
WEAKENING...THEY COULD STILL PRODUCE HIGH WINDS AND TORRENTIAL RAIN
OVER PARTS OF WESTERN NEW YORK. THE SOUTHERN TIER COUNTIES ARE THE
MOST LIKELY PLACES TO SEE HIGH WINDS AND HEAVY RAIN OVERNIGHT.

BECAUSE THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE MOVING QUITE FAST...FLOODING
DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE A THREAT AT THIS TIME. YOUR NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE WILL FOLLOW THE MOVEMENT OF THE STORMS AND THEIR ASSOCIATED
RAINFALL DURING THE NIGHT...AND WILL ISSUE FURTHER STATEMENTS AS
NECESSARY.
