THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 400 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES

   IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK
      SOUTHERN CHAUTAUQUA AND SOUTHERN CATTARAUGUS COUNTIES

AT 300 PM BUFFALO RDAR DETECTED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER
SOUTHERN CHAUTAUQUA AND CATTARAUGUS COUNTIES.  THE MOST INTENSE CELL
WAS JUST SOUTHWEST OF JAMESTOWN.  THE STORMS WERE DRIFTING SOUTHEAST
AT 15 TO 20 MILES AN HOUR.

ASHEVILLE LOCATED JUST WEST OF JAMESTOWN REPORTED 1 INCH OF RAIN IN
25 MINUTES...MARBLE SIZE HAIL AND 40 MPH PLUS WIND GUSTS AROUND 245PM.

BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THUNDERSTORMS ACCOMPANIED BY FREQUENT LIGHTNING
STRONG DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL.  LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN MAY ALSO
CAUSE DRAINAGE FLOODING.

IF THREATENING WEATHER APPRwOACHES GO TO A SAFE PLACE IMMEDIATELY.
