THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
AND SPECIAL MARINE WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 730 AM EDT FOR
PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY

   IN THE EXTREME NORTH PART OF LOWER MICHIGAN
      CHARLEVOIX

...THIS WARNING ALSO INCLUDES THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS FOR THE
COUNTY JUST MENTIONED

AT 743 AM RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM IN NORTHERN LAKE
MICHIGAN ABOUT 8 MILES WEST OF THE CITY OF CHARLEVOIX.
THE STORM WAS MOVING EAST AROUND 45 MPH AND SHOULD BE MOVING
ONSHORE A LITTLE SOUTH OF CHARLEVOIX yAROUND 700 AM.

IF YOU ARE IN AN AREA THREATENED BY THE STORM..GO TO A REINFORCED
SHELTER AND PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY
RAIN AND LIGHTNING.

HIGH WINDS AND WAVES ARE LIKELY WITH THIS STORM.

            ROOF BLOWN OFF A MOBILE HOME. NUMEROUS TREES AND POWER
            LINES DOWN. SHED DESTROYED. MARBLE SIZE HAIL.

1809        MONTMORENCY COUNTY...NUMEROUS TREES AND POWER LINES
            DOWN.

1827        PRESQUE ISLE COUNTY...TREES DOWN IN VICINITY OF ONAWAY.

1840-1850   ALPENA COUNTY...M32 WEST OF M65 AT GREEN ROAD. BARN AT
            THE BARRY FARM DESTROYED. GRANERY DESTROYED AT THE
            STANDEN FARM NEAR LACHINE.
            THE ALPENA COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT REPORTED THAT ALL
            THE TREES WERE ALL LAYING TOWARD THE SOUTHEAST...AND
            THEY ASCERTAINED THAT THE DAMAGE WAS CAUSED BY STRAIGHT
            WIND.
