THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 515 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTY
IN THE NORTH CENTRAL PART OF KANSAS
SMITH
AT 425 AM CDT RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 30 MILES EAST OF
PHILIIPSBURG NEAR SMITH CENTER MOVING EAST AT 35 MPH. THIS STORM
WILL BE NEAR BELLAIRE BY 5 AM.
PEOPLE IN THE WARNED AREA SHOULD GET INTO A REINFORCED SHELTER AND
PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN AND
DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM MAY PRODUCE LARGE
HAIL GREATER THAN 3/4 INCH IN DIAMETER...DESTRUCTIVE WINDS OF OVER
60 MPH AND HEAVY RAINS WHICH MAY FLOOD LOW LYING AREAS.
