THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1230 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES

   IN THE NORTH CENTRAL PART OF KANSAS
      NORTHERN OSBORNE...SMITH

AT 1120 PM CDT RADAR SHOWED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS  FROM
PHILLIPSBURG TO 25 MILE SOUTHEAST OF PHILLIPSBURG OR FROM 20
MILES WEST OF OSBORNE TO 25 MILES WEST OF SMITH CENTER.  THE
LINE WAS MOVING EAST A 40 MPH AND WILL BE FROM NEAR ALTON TO
KENSINGTON BY 1145 PM CDT.
LARGE HAIL AND GUSTY WINDS CAN BE EXPECTED WITH THESE STORMS.

PEOPLE IN THE WARNED AREA SHOULD GET INTO A REINFORCED SHELTER AND
PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN AND
DANGEROUS LIGHTNING.  THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM MAY PRODUCE LARGE
HAIL GREATER THAN 3/4 INCH IN DIAMETER...DESTRUCTIVE WINDS OF OVER
60 MPH AND HEAVY RAINS WHICH MAY FLOOD LOW LYING AREAS.

WEST OF A LINE FROM BELLEVILLE TO MCPHERSON AND NORTH OF A LINE FROM
MCPHERSON TO LA CROSSE  AND EAST OF A LINE FROM LA CROSSE TO PHILLIPS/
BURG.

AT 1050 PM CDT SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE WEST OF A LINE FROM HAYS
TO SMITH CENTER OR 30 MILES EAST OF PHILLIPSBURG TO GRAND ISLAND,
NEBRASKA.  THE THUNDERSTORMS AND SHOWERS WERE MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH.
