THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 915 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTY
IN THE NORTH CENTRAL PART OF KANSAS
NORTHWEST OSBORNE
AT 857 PM CDT RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 25 MILES
SOUTHEAST OF PHILLIPSBURG NEAR ALTON MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH.
THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE NORTHWEST PART OF
OSBORNE COUNTY AND WILL FOLLOW ON THE HEELS OF THE TORNADO
PRODUCING THUNDERSTORM AS IT MOVES INTO SMITH COUNTY.
PEOPLE IN THE WARNED AREA SHOULD GET INTO A REINFORCED SHELTER AND
PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN AND
DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM MAY PRODUCE LARGE
HAIL GREATER THAN 3/4 INCH IN DIAMETER...DESTRUCTIVE WINDS OF OVER

AT 538 PM THERE WERE NO THUNDERSTORMS IN CENTRAL KANSAS HOWEVER A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS CENTERED SOME 45 MILES SOUTHWEST OF HAYS. MOVEMENT WAS NORTH NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH. ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD FORM OVER THE NEXT TWO HOURS SOME OF WHICH MAY BE IN CENTRAL KANSAS. THEREFORE PERSONS IN CENTRAL KANSAS SHOULD BE ALERT THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. KA

THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM HAD TURNED MORE TO THE NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH. AND IS NOW A THREAT FOR THE WESTERN SECTIONS OF OSBORNE AND SMITH COUNTIES OF NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS BY 730 PM. PERSONS IN THE WESTERN SECTIONS OF OSBORNE AND SMITH COUNTIES SHOULD BE VERY WATCHFUL OF THIS SEVERE STORM AS IT APPROACHES YOUR AREA.
