THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 615 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTY

   IN THE NORTH CENTRAL PART OF KANSAS
      WESTERN SMITH

AT 525 PM CDT RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 10 MILES EAST
OF PHILLIPSBURG OR 10 MILES WEST OF KENSINGTON MOVING EAST
NORTHEAST 25 MPH.

A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA SO REMEMBER
THESE STORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE A TORNADO WITH LITTLE
OR NO ADVANCE WARNING...SO BE ON THE LOOKOUT.

PEOPLE IN THE WARNED AREA SHOULD GET INTO A REINFORCED SHELTER AND
PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN AND
DANGEROUS LIGHTNING.  THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM MAY PRODUCE LARGE
HAIL GREATER THAN 3/4 INCH IN DIAMETER...DESTRUCTIVE WINDS OF OVER
60 MPH AND
 HEAVY RAINS WHICH MAY FLOOD LOW LYING AREAS.

WILL BE MOVING INTO SOUTHERN HARLAN COUNTY OF NEBRASKA BY 445 PM.

DIGHTON TO RUSSELL TO CLAY CENTER AND WEST OF A LINE FROM CALY CENTER
TO WASHINGTON.

AT 525 PM CDT STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE WEST OF A LINE FROM HASTINGS
NEBRASKA TO 25 MILES EAST OF PHILLIPSBURG KANSAS TO 25 MILES WEST
OF RUSSELL.  THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH.
