000 TTAA00 KTBW 092205 SVRTBW FLC053-057-101-103-092300- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAMPA BAY AREA RUSKIN FL 605 PM EDT MON JUL 9 1990 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAMPA BAY AREA RUSKIN HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 700 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE... IN WEST CENTRAL FLORIDA ...WESTERN HERNANDO COUNTY...NORTHWESTERN HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY ...WESTERN PASCO COUNTY...PINELLAS COUNTY AND ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS INCLUDING THE BAY AND INLAND WATERS A LINE OF POTENTIALLY SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDED FROM WESTERN HERNADO COUNTY SOUTH INTO NORTHWEST HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY. SEVERAL FUNNEL CLOUDS AS WELL AS MARBLE TO GOLF BALL SIZE HAIL WAS REPORTED IN NORTHWEST HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY . ONE TOUCHED DOWN WITH LIGHT DAMAGE IN THE TOWN AND COUNTRY AREA AROUND 550PM. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHWEST AT 10 TO 15 MPH AND WILL BE SPREADING INTO THE COASTAL WATERS DURING THE NEXT HOUR. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN. ABANDON CARS AND MOBILE HOMES FOR A REINFORCED BUILDING. MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR. STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

SMALL HAIL...HAS BEEN REPORTED IN THE TAMPA AREA. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE PART OF AN AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE STATE. THE AREA WAS FROM EAST OF ORLANDO TO LAKE PLACID...EXTENDS TO THE WEST COAST AND THE COASTAL WATERS FROM THE TAMPA AREA TO NEAR NAPLES...AND OUT OVER THE EAST GULF TO 50 MILES OFF SHORE. MOVEMENT WAS NORTHWEST AT 15 MILES AN HOUR.
