THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN TAMPA BAY AREA RUSKIN HAS ISSUED A 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND SPECIAL MARINE WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL  440 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE...

IN WEST CENTRAL FLORIDA

   ...SOUTHWESTERN PASCO COUNTY...NORTHERN PINELLAS COUNTY

  AND FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM... 

   ...NORTH PINELLAS COUNTY  TO  SOUTH PASCO COUNTY

AT 335 PM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR AT RUSKIN SHOWED A SEVERE
THUNDERSTORM APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES SOUTHEAST OF NEW PORT RICHEY IN  PASCO
COUNTY. THE STORM WAS MOVING WEST NORTHWEST AT 10 MILES AN HOUR. THIS
CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS HAS SHOWN SIGNS OR GENERATION OF NEW THUNDERSTORMS
AND TEH TARPON SPRINGS AREA IN PINELLAS COUNTY WILL LIKELY COME UNDER THE
INFLUENCE OF THESE STORMS.

THIS IS A DANGEROUS THUNDERSTORM AND WILL LIKELY PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS IN
EXCESS OF 60 MILES AN HOUR AND POSSIBLY SMALL HAIL. THE THUNDERSTORM HAS
CONTINUED TO INCREASE IN INTENSITY OVER THE PAST 30 MINUTES AND RADAR
INDICATED HAIL IS LIKELY FROM THIS STORM. THESE THUNDERSTORM WILL LIKELY
MOVE OFFSHORE INTO OPEN WATERS BEFORE 410 PM.

RESIDENTS AND BOATERS OF NORTH PINELLAS AND SOUTHWEST PASCO COUNTIES IN THE
PATH OF THIS STORM SHOULD SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY AND PREPARE FOR DAMAGING
WINDS...HEAVY RAIN...AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING. A MOBILE HOME IS NOT A SAFE
REFUGE FROM A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM...MOVE TO A MORE SUBSTANTIAL BUILDING. 

RESIDENTS ARE URGED TO REPORT ANY WEATHER RELATED DAMAGE TO THE LOCAL
SHERIFF OFFICE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND REQUEST THEY RELAY THIS INFORMATION
TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
