THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN ANGELO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  345 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES
 
IN  TEXAS
 
   ...IRION COUNTY...TOM GREEN COUNTY
 
AT 1030 AM CDT THE SAN ANGELO POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS FM 915 FROM
MERTZON TO ELDORADO IN IRION COUNTY WAS CLOSED BY HIGH WATER. U.S. 277
AT THE TOM GREEN-SCHLEICHER COUNTY LINE HAD 4 INCHES OF WATER ACROSS
THE ROADWAY BUT WAS STILL OPEN. AT THIS TIME WIDESPREAD MODERATE TO
OCCASIONALLY HEAVY RAIN WAS FALLING ACROSS IRION AND TOM GREEN
COUNTIES AND SHOULD CONTINUE FOR AT LEAST THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. THIS
WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF LOW LYING AND FLOOD PRONE AREAS.
 
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTE.MPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
