THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN ANGELO HAS ISSUED A
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1130 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE
FOLLOWING COUNTIES
 
IN  TEXAS
 
   ...MENARD COUNTY...SUTTON COUNTY
 
EARLY THIS TUESDAY MORNING...SAN ANGELO RADAR WAS INDICATING NO
RAINFALL IN THE WARNED COUNTIES. ALTHOUGH NO RAIN HAS OCCURRED IN THIS
AREA OVER THE LAST 12 HOURS...SEVERAL ROADS REMAINED CLOSED THIS
MORNING. IN SUTTON COUNTY...FM ROADS 189 AND 864 ARE CLOSED DUE TO
WATER ACROSS THE ROAD. IN MENARD COUNTY...FM ROADS 2092 AND 1311 ALONG
WITH 864 NEAR FT MCKAVETT WERE CLOSED.
 
MOTORIST SHOULD USE ALTERNATIVE ROUTES IF TRAVEL WAS PLANNED ON THESE
ROADS AND REMEMBER...DO NOT DRIVE AROUND BARRICADES AND NEVER IGNORE
WARNING SIGNS.
 
ALTHOUGH ISOLATED SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS ARE FORECAST FOR THE CONCHO
VALLEY THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...A GENERAL DRYING TREND IS EXPECTED
TO PERSIST FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS.
 
 
A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
