AT 220 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR IN SHREVEPORT SHOWED AN AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER A SMALL PART OF SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND MUCH OF EAST TEXAS. THE AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WAS ABOUT 50 MILES WIDE AND EXTENDED FROM VALLIANT AND IDABEL OKLAHOMA SOUTHWARD TO TYLER AND CROCKETT TEXAS AND CONTINUING TO HOUSTON. THE AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WAS MOVING EAST AT 15 TO 20 MILES AN HOUR. THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY TO VERY HEAVY RAINFALL WERE LOCATED OVER NORTHEAST TEXAS BETWEEN AVERY..JEFFERSON AND GILMER. . ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ALSO DEVELOPED OVER PARTS OF NORTHWEST AND NORTH CENTRAL LOUISIANA. THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAINFALL IN NORTHERN LOUISIANA WERE LOCATED NORTH OF OIL CITY..JUST WEST OF SIBLEY AND BETWEEN STONEWALL AND COUSHATTA. THESE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT AROUND 25 MILES AN HOUR. REMEMBER..ALONG WITH THE HEAVY RAINuFALL THESE THUNDERSTORMS ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING BRIEF GUSTY WINDS..DANGEROUS LIGHTNING AND SMALL HAIL.
