AT 1050 PM CDT WEATHER SERVICE RADAR IN SHREVEPORT SHOWED SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS...NORTHEAST LOUISIANA...NORTHEAST TEXAS...AND SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA. HEAVY RAINFALL WAS OCCURRING NEAR BASTROP AND LAKE PROVIDENCE LOUISIANA. IN SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA HEAVY RAIN WAS OCCURR- ING NEAR WRIGHT CITY OKLAHOMA. IN NORTHEAST TEXAS HEAVY RAIN WAS INDICATED NEAR PARIS AND SULPHUR SPRINGS. MOVEMENT OF THE STORMS WAS TO THE NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH. THE STRONGER STORMS WILL PRODUCE HEAVY RAINFALL...STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING. MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO USE CAUTION SINCE LOW AREA FLOODING MAY OCCUR OVER SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA...NORTHEAST TEXAS...AND SOUTH- WEST ARKANSAS DUE TO HEAVY RAINFALL EARLIER THIS EVENING. ...A FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FOR THE TRIBUTARIES OF THE LITTLE RIVER IN SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS DUE TO AS MUCH AS SIX INCHES OF RAINFALL OVER THE BASIN... PERSONS IN SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS SHOULD BE ALERT TO ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINS TONIGHT AND MONDAY..THE SOILS HAVE BEEN SATURATED WITH SMALL STREAMS AND RIVERS AT HIGH LEVELS DUE TO EXCESS WATER RUNOFF. ADDITIONAL HEAVY RA[INS TONIGHT AND MONDAY WILL CONTRIBUTE TO RAPID RUNOFF AND RAPID FLOODING.
