THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ELKINS HAS ISSUED A
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1015 AM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN WEST MARYLAND
 
   ...ALLEGANY COUNTY
 
AN AREA OF MODERATE RAIN MOVED OVER ALLEGANY COUNTY MARYLAND EARLY
THIS MORNING. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 OR MORE INCHES FELL IN A SHORT
PERIOD OF TIME. RUNOFF FROM THIS RAINFALL HAS CAUSED STREAMS TO
RISE ABOVE THEIR BANKS. WATER HAS BEEN REPORTED ACROSS ROADWAYS
AND INTO BASEMENTS IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS IN THE WESTERN HALF OF
ALLEGANY COUNTY. THE AREA OF MODERATE RAIN IS NOW TO THE NORTH
OF ALLEGANY COUNTY, AND THE HEADWATERS OF STREAMS WHICH DRAIN INTO
THE COUNTY.
 
A FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR GARRET COUNTY MARYLAND UNTIL
1015 AM EDT THIS TUESDAY MORNING.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERiS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
