NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PHOENIX ARIZONA
350 PM MST MON AUG 13 1990

AT 345 PM WEATHER RADAR AND SATELLITE PICTURES SHOWED THUNDERSTORMS
DEVELOPING OVER NORTHWEST ARIZONA...SOME WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR HEAVY
RAIN AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS.

THE STRONGEST STORMS WERE LOCATED OVER WESTERN YAVAPAI AND SOUTHERN
MOHAVE COUNTIES. MOVEMENT OF THE THUNDERSTORMS APPEARED TO BE TO THE
SOUTH ABOUT 10 MILES AN HOUR...BUT AT THE SAME TIME THEY WERE GROWING
TOWARD THE WEST.

MOTORISTS IN THESE AREAS...ESPECIALLY ALONG U.S. ROUTE 93...WILL NEED
TO USE CAUTION AND WATCH FOR FLOODED HIGHWAY DIPS.

IF THIS AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUES TO GROW SOUTH AND WEST
MOTORISTS IN EXTREME NORTHWEST MARICOPA COUNTY WILL ALSO NEED TO
WATCH WEATHER CONDITIONS IN THE NEXT HOUR OR SO. ALSO...THE THREAT
OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS BUILDING WEST TO THE COLORADO RIVER EXISTS...
ESPECIALLY FROM ABOUT BLYTHE NORTH TO BULLHEAD CITY. ARRIVAL OF
THUNDERSTORMS INTO THIS AREA WOULD BE BETWEEN 430 PM AND 730 PM.
