AZZALL-062300- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PHOENIX AZ 200 PM MST MON AUG 6 1990 AT 2 PM RADAR AND SATELLITE PICTURES SHOWED THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING OVER THE NORTHWEST AND SOUTHEAST QUARTERS OF THE STATE. OVER MOHAVE COUNTY THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING TOWARD THE SOUTHWEST ABOUT 20 MPH. THESE STORMS COULD RESULT IN HEAVY RAIN AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS ALONG THE COLORADO RIVER NORTH OF PARKER DAM BY 4 PM. THUS PEOPLE IN THIS AREA SHOULD WATCH WEATHER CONDITIONS CLOSELY. THE THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTHEAST ARIZONA WERE MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH AND WEST ABOUT 15 MPH. DOUGLAS AND FORT HUACHUCA HAVE REPORTING STEADY RAIN THE PAST 3 OR 4 HOURS...WITH TEMPERATURES REMAINING IN THEr MIDDLE 60S. MOTORISTS...HIKERS...AND CAMPERS IN THIS AREA WILL NEED TO WATCH FOR SUDDEN HEAVY RAINS THAT COULD RESULT IN FLASH FLOODING OF NORMALLY DRY CREEKS...LOW AREAS ON ROADS...AND WASHES. > JP 062100Z
