TXZALL-100030- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WICHITA FALLS TX 628 PM CDT MON APR 9 1990 A TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THIS PORTION OF NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS AND SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA UNTIL 10 PM CDT THIS MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING... AT 625 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS IN YOUNG AND JACK COUNTIES. VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE NORTH OF ABILENE AND BETWEEN LUBBOCK AND CHILDRESS. MOVEMENT WAS NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH. IN OKLAHOMA SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WERE NORTH AND EAST OF GAGE MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH. REMEMBER..A TORNADO WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE ALERT FOR THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.
