000 TTAA00 KOKC 161752 RRA SVROKC OKC043-161830- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OKLAHOMA CITY OK 1147 AM CST TUE JAN 16 1990 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OKLAHOMA CITY HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1230 PM CST FOR THE FOLLOWING OKLAHOMA LOCATIONS... IN NORTHWEST OKLAHOMA ...DEWEY COUNTY AT 1147 AM RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM OVER ALEDO MOVING NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH. LARGE HAIL AND GUSTY WINDS ARE POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM. WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING. DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS. DON'T USE TELEPHONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED. MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT DRIVE INTO LOW WATER CROSSINGS.

TXZ019-020-161830 SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE WICHITA FALLS TX 1045 AM CDT TUE JAN 16 1990 LATE THIS MORNING SHOWERS AND ISOLATED VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING ALONG A SLOW MOVING COLD FRONT THAT STRETCHED ACROSS THE EASTERN TEXAS PANHANDLE INTO THE TEXAS BIG BEND. THE MAJORITY OF PRECIPTATION WAS FALLING IN AN AREA SOME 90 MILES WIDE THAT EXTENDED FROM GAGE OKLAHOMA TO SOUTH OF ABILENE. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WITHIN THIS PORTION OF NORTH TEXAS WERE LOCATED TO THE WEST AND SOUTHWEST OF VERNON. THESE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 25 MPH AND WILL LIKELY MOVE INTO THE VERNON AREA DURING THE NEXT 15 TO 20 MINUTES. THESE STORMS AR6E PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINS AND COULD ALSO PRODUCE SOME LIGHTNING AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS.

THE HEAVIEST RAINS FALLING IN THIS PORTION OF NORTH TEXAS WERE LOCATED ACROSS NORTHERN AND SOUTHEASTERN WILBARGER COUNTY. MOVEMENT OF ALL ACTIVITY WAS TO ~THE NORTHEAST AT 25 MILES AN HOUR.
