THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN OKLAHOMA CITY HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  745 PM CDT
FOR THE FOLLOWING OKLAHOMA LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTHWEST OKLAHOMA
 
   ...COMANCHE COUNTY
 
VERY HEAVY RAINFALL THIS AFTERNOON HAS OCCURRED OVER SOUTHERN AND
EASTERN PORTIONS OF COMANCHE COUNTY WITH UP TO 5.1 INCHES FALLING AT
THE KSWO TELEVISION STATION IN LAWTON. ADDITIONAL
THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL ARE DEVELOPING OVER
NORTHEASTERN TILLMAN AND NORTHWESTERN COTTON COUNTY WHICH WILL MOVE
ACROSS COMANCHE COUNTY DURING BETWEEN 445 AND 600 PM. LOCAL RAINFALL
OF TWO TO THREE INCHES MAY BE EXPECTED WITH THESE THUNDERSTORMS. WITH
THE LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL WHICH ALREADY HAS OCCURRED IN COMANCHE
COUNTY THIS AFTERNOON...THE ADDITIONAL RAINFALL MAY RESULT IN
SIGNIFICANT FLOODING OF SMALL STREAMS. THE GREATEST RAINFALL SO FAR
HAS OCCURRED OVER THE DRAINAGE BASINS OF EAST CACHE
CREEK...DRY BEAVER CREEK...AND BEAVER CREEK. PERSONS WITH PROPERTY OR
LIVESTOCK IN LOW LYING AREAS SHOULD TAKE IMMEDIATE PRECAUTIONS TO
PREVENT FLOOD DAMAGE.
 
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUN:D.
