WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1000 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES

   IN THE EAST CENTRAL PART OF NEBRASKA
      BURT...NORTHEAST DODGE...WASHINGTON...

   IN THE WEST CENTRAL PART OF IOWA
      HARRISON...

AT 848 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS 40 MILES
NORTHWEST OF OMAHA OR JUST NORTHEAST OF SCRIBNER NEBRASKA AND
20 MILES NORTH NORTHWEST OF DOWNTOWN OMAHA AROUND FT. CALHOUN AND
BLAIR MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH.  THE TOWNS OF TEKAMAH...
OAKLAND  MISSOURI VALLEY AND LOGAN ARE IN THE PATH OF THESE
STORMS.

PEOPLE IN THE WARNED AREA SHOULD GET INTO A REINFORCED SHELTER AND
PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN...AND
DANGEROUS LIGHTNING.

THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAN PRODUCE HAIL GREATER THAN 3/4 INCH IN
DIAMETER AND DESTRUCTIVE WINDS.  STAY INDOORS AND AWAY FROM AREAS
WITH LOOSE ITEMS THAT COULD BECOME DANGEROUS FLYING DEBRIS.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORFOLK NE
525 PM CDT THU AUG 23 1990

AT 520 THIS AFTERNOON NORFOLK RADAR INDICATED A FEW STRONG THUNDERSTORMS
DEVELOPING FROM 20 TO 80 MILES WEST THROUGH SOUTHWEST OF NORFOLK.  THE
STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT ABOUT 15 MPH.

ONE STRONG STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR TILDEN...OR ABOUT 20 MILES WEST OF
NORFOLK.  HAIL WAS INDICATED WITH THIS STORM...AS WAS INTENSE RAINFALL.
THIS STORM WILL LIKELY MOVE ACROSS TILDEN AND NEAR MEADOW GROVE BY 6 PM.

ANOTHER STRONG STORM WAS ABOUT 60 MILES WEST OF NORFOLK NEAR BARTLETT.
THIS STORM WILL LIKELY MOVE ACROSS THE CLEARWATER AREA NORTHWEST OF
NELIGH BY 6 PM.

PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR VERY HEAVY RAIN...
STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND POSSIBLY HAIL.  LOCAL SMALL STREAM AND STREET
FLOODING COULD ALSO OCCUR FROM THE VERY HEAVY RAIN IN THE VICINITY OF
THESE STORMS.  MzOTORISTS SHOULD NOT DRIVE OVER AREAS WITH WATER
RUNNING OVER THE ROAD.

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO DEVELOP AND MOVE SLOWLY
NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH ABOUT MIDNIGHT.
