000 TTAA00 KDAB 122043 SVRDAB FLC127-122145- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DAYTONA BEACH FL 442 PM EDT THU JUL 12 1990 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DAYTONA BEACH HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 545 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA ...VOLUSIA COUNTY AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS. AT 440 PM EDT A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS INDICATED BY RADAR ACROSS SOUTHERN VOLUSIA COUNTY MOVING NORTH 10 MPH. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH YOU SHOULD PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...AND DEADLY LIGHTNING. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVPE TO A SHELTER... PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING BUT STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

AT 430 PM EDT THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR AT DAYTONA BEACH SHOWED SCATTERED TO RATHER NUMEROUS STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WEST HALF OF AND SOUTHERN PART OF VOLUSIA COUNTY AND ACROSS MUCH OF MARION COUNTY. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTH 10 MPH AND WILL BE ALSO AFFECTING THE WEST HALF OF FLAGLER COUNTY A LITTLE LATER. THE GREATEST DANGER WITH THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE VERY HEAVY RAIN AND LIGHTNING STRIKES...RESIDENTS ARE ADVISED TO SEEK SAFE SHELTER AND FOLLOW LIGHTNING SAFETY RULES. SOME BRIEFE STRONG AND GUSTY WIND MAY ALSO BE PRODUCED BY THESE STORMS AS THEY CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING HOURS.
