ILZ001-002-272230- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ROCKFORD IL 328 PM CST TUE NOV 22 1990 ...TORNADO WATCH FOR MUCH OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS UNTIL 9 PM... AT 3 25 PM CST...RADAR WAS INDICATING THAT SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WAS COVERING MUCH OF THE AREA. THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE FROM JUST SOUTH OF ROCHELLE TO LA SALLE ILLINOIS...OR ABOUT 20 TO 35 MILES SOUTH OF ROCKFORD. THE STORMS WERE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS AND TORNADOES COULD DEVELOP AT ANY TIME... ESPECIALLY NEAR TO AND EAST OF A LINE FROM ROCKFORD TO DIXON. EVERYONE IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THEATENING WEATHER AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.
