000 TTAA00 KBTR 300225 SVRBTR LAC097-300315- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BATON ROUGE LA 824 PM CST THU MAR 29 1990 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BATON ROUGE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 915 PM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN EAST CENTRAL LOUISIANA ...ST.LANDRY PARISH AT 8.20 PM WEATHER RADARS INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORM FROM JUST SOUTH OF VILLE PLATTE SOUTHWARD NEAR LAWTELL CONTINUING TO JUST WEST OF LAFAYETTE. MOVEMENT WAS TOWARDS THE EAST NEAR 40 MPH, THESE THUNDERSTORMS HAVE PRODUCED DAMANGING WINDS DURING THE PAST TWO HOURS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU >ARE IN ITS PATH YOU SHOULD PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...AND DEADLY LIGHTNING. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER... PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING BUT STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
