SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING 
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORTH PLATTE NE
1144 PM CDT SAT AUG 11 1990

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1245 AM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTY

   IN THE CENTRAL PART OF NEBRASKA
      SOUTHERN CUSTER

AT 1140 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ABOUT 40
MILES EAST OF NORTH PLATTE NEAR OCONTO.   THE STORMS WERE MOVING
SOUTHEAST AT 30 MPH AND COULD PRODUCE LARGE HAIL AND VERY HEAVY
RAIN.

IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA THREATENED BY THE STORM...GO TO A REINFORCED
SHELTER AND PREPARE FOR STRONG DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...VERY
HEAVY RAIN...AND DEADLY LIGHTNING.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH...
LARGE HAIL GREATER THAN 3/4 INCH IN DIAMETER...DEADLY LIGHTNING
AND VERY HEAVY RAIN THAT CAN FLOOD A LOW LYING AREA QUICKLY.
