WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 915 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES
IN THE NORTHEAST PART OF NEBRASKA
ANTELOPE...NORTHERN MADISON...PIERCE
AT SHORTLY AFTER 8 PM A SPOTTER REPORTED SEEING A TORNADO ON
THE GROUND AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF STATE HIGHWAYS 14 AND 20...
OR ABOUT ABOUT 15 MILES NORTH OF NELIGH.
NORFOLK RADAR INDICATED POSSIBLE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FROM NEAR
NELIGH EXTENDING TO JUST WEST OF MEADOW GROVE. THESE STORMS WILL
BE MOVING INTO THE NORFOLK TO PIERCE AREAS IN THE NEXT HOUR.
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL...DEADLY
LIGHTNING AND VERY HEAVY RAIN THAT CAN QUICKLY FLOOD A LOW LYING
AREA. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN ALSO PRODUCE A TORNADO WITH LITTLE
OR NO WARNING.
THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH...PREPARE FOR

NEZ016-160120- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORTH PLATTE NE 620 PM MDT TUE MAY 15 1990 AT 620 PM MDT...THUNDERSTORMS WERE INCREASING IN INTENSITY AND AREAL COVERAGE ACROSS EXTREME SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING EAST INTO CHASE COUNTY OF NEBRASKA FROM NORTHEAST COLORADO. THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAIN...ALONG WITH POSSIBLE GUSTY WINDS AND HAIL WAS JUST NORTH OF THE TOWN OF LAMAR NEBRASKA. LAMAR IS LOCATED ABOUT 65 MILES SOUTHWEST OF NORTH PLATTE. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING TO THE EAST AROUND 25 MILES AN HOUR. PERSONS IN CHASE COUNTY AND EXTREME SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF SEVERE WEATHER DURING THE NEXT HOUR AND TAKE THE NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS. CARMEL
