THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN KEY WEST HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING AND
SPECIAL MARINE WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1015 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...
 
IN SOUTH FLORIDA
          ...MONROE-LOWER KEYS
 
AND ADJOINING COASTAL WATERS FROM THE MARQUESAS KEYS TO THE SEVEN
MILE BRIDGE.
 
A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS INDICATED BY RADAR JUST WEST AND SOUTH OF
KEY WEST. THE THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING SLIGHTLY EAST OF DUE NORTH AT
25 MILES AN HOUR.
 
THE GREATEST RISK OF WIND DAMAGE WITH THIS THUNDERSTORM IS IN AND AROUNDKEY WEST.
 
THUNDERSTORM WINDS IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...DEADLY LIGHTNING STRIKES
AND VERY HEAVY RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED IN THE WARNED AREA.  FOR YOUR
PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF YOUR
HOME OR BUILDING.  WHILE THE STORM IS OVERHEAD DO NOT USE
TELEPHONES OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES...UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY.
 
BOATERS IN THE WARNED AREA SHOULD STEER CLEAR OF THESE STORM
CONDITIONS AND MOVE QUICKLY TO SAFE HARBOR IF POSSIBLE.  BE
PREPARED FOR DANGEROUS WIND AND SEAS.  ENSURE THAT ALL PERSONS ON
BOARD ARE WEARING APPROVED PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICES.
