...TORNADO WATCH NUMBER 175 IS IN EFFECT FOR PERSONS
IN ALACHUA...BRADFORD...CLAY...DUVAL...NASSAU...LAFAYETTE...
GILCHRIST...SUWANNEE...HAMILTON...COLUMBIA...UNION...BAKER COUNTIES OF
FLORIDA AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS UNTIL 6PM EDT.
AT 325 PM EDT WEATHER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS OCCURRING FROM JUST
SOUTH OF ST SIMONS ISLAND GEORGIA TO JACKSONVILLE AND FURTHER
SOUTHWEST TO CECIL AND GAINESVILLE. THE STRONGEST STORMS WERE
OCCURRING JUST SOUTH OF CECIL AND NEAR KINGSLEY LAKE IN CLAY COUNTY.
THE STORMS ARE MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR AND WILL
LIKELY PRODUCE STRONG GUSTY WINDS...DANGEROUS LIGHTNING...HEAVY RAIN...
AND POSSIBLE HAIL AS THEY MOVE THROUGH THE AREA THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS.
SO FAR NO SEVERE WEATHER HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE WEATHER OFFICE...
HOWEVER PERSONS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA ARE URGED TO STAY TUNED
AND KEEP ABREAST OF THE SITUATION AND BE PREPARED TO ACT QUICKLY
IF A WARNING IS ISSUED.
MARINE INTERSTS OPERATING IN THE COASTAL WATERS FROM AMELIA ISLAND
TO ST AUGUSTINE SHOULD BE ALERT FORz THREATENING WEATHER AND BE PREPARED
TO SEEK SAFE HARBOUR AS THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE OFFSHORE THE NEXT
