AT 405 PM A VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORM WAS INDICATED JUST ACROSS THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER ABOUT 10 MILES NORTHWEST OF NATCHEZ. THIS THUNDERSTORM HAS ALREADY PRODUCE DAMAGE IN LOUISIANA. IT IS MOVING TO THE NORTHEAST AT 45 MPH AND SHOULD CROSS OVER THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER INTO FAYETTE COUNTY AND THEN TRACK TOWARD PORT GIBSON. THIS THUNDERSTORM MAY REQUIRE A WARNING SO PEOPLE IN FAYETTE AND CLAIBORNE COUNTIES SHOULD PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO NOAA RADIO OR THEIR LOCAL TV OR RADIO STATION AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION IF NEEDED.

MSZALL-220300- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSON MS 703PM CST FRI DEC 21 1990 ...MAJOR DAMAGE ACROSS SOUTHERN CARROLL COUNTY... REPORTS FROM SOUTHERN CARROLL COUNTY INDICATE MAJOR DAMAGE ACROSS THE AREA...ESPECIALLY AROUND THE VAIDEN AREA. THE CARROLL COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICE HAS REQUESTED THAT PEOPLE AVOID THIS AREA FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT. RESCUE PERSONNEL NEED TO GET INTO THE AREA TO HELP THE INJURED AND CLEAR DEBRIS. AS OF 7 PM...THERE HAS BEEN ONE CONFIRMED DEATH IN VAIDEN AND SEVERAL INJURIES.
