...HEAT INDEX 110 TO 120 CENTRAL AND SOUTH THIS AFTERNOON AND TUESDAY...

HOT AND HUMID WEATHER CONTINUED ACROSS MISSISSIPPI THIS AFTERNOON.
WORST CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN IN THE SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL COUNTIES WHERE
A FEW PLACES HAVE REPORTED HEAT INDICES BETWEEN 110 AND 120.

MORE HOT WEATHER IS EXPECTED STATEWIDE TUESDAY.  ALTHOUGH A WEAK TROUGH
OF LOW PRESSURE WILL BE MOVING THROUGH THE STATE TONIGHT...IT APPEARS
THAT SLIGHTLY DRIER AIR WILL BE FILTERING INTO THE NORTHERN COUNTIES
TUESDAY.  HOWEVER...THE SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL COUNTIES MAY AGAIN SEE
HEAT INDICES FROM 110 TO 120 AGAIN TOMORROW.

PEOPLE WHO MUST BE OUTSIDE FOR PROLONGED PERIODS OF TIME SHOULD TAKE
NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS TO GUARD AGAINST THE OPPRESSIVE HEAT.

...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS MOVING THROUGH THE UPPER DELTA...

AT 400 PM...RADAR INDICATED A LARGE VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORM IN
SOUTHERN QUITMAN COUNTY MOVING SOUTH AT 20 MILES AN HOUR TOWARD
TALLAHATCHIE COUNTY. THIS STORM SHOULD MOVE TO THE EAST OF TUTWILER
AND SUMNER INTO CENTRAL TALLAHATCHIE COUNTY DURING THE NEXT 30 MILES.

VERY HEAVY RAIN...GUSTY WINDS...FREQUENT LIGHTNING STRIKES AND POSSIBLE
HAIL WILL ACCOMPANY THIS STORM. PERSONS WHO ARE OUTDOORS SHOULD MOVE TO
A PLACE OF SAFETY AND BOATERS ON AREA LAKES WILL NEED TO TAKE COVER AS
THESE THUNDERSTORMS APPROACH.

THUNDERSTORMS. CONTINUED THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT IS LIKELY ACROSS NORTH
