SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1030 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY...
 
IN SOUTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA
          ...ROBESON
 
AT 930 A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM IN ROBESON COUNTY WAS LOCATED BETWEEN
MAXTON AND ROWLAND. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING SLOWLY TO THE
EAST.
 
 
PEOPLE IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM SHOULD BE ALERT FOR LARGE HAIL AND
DAMAGING WINDS. FREQUENT LIGHTNING AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN CAN OCCUR
WITH ANY THUNDERSTORM.
 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WINDS CAN REACH SPEEDS OF 60 MPH TO OVER 100
MPH. THESE WINDS BLOW DOWN TREES...POWER LINES...AND SEVERELY
DAMAGE MOBILE HOMES...SOMETIMES BUILDINGS. VERY LARGE HAIL CAN
INJURE ANYONE CAUGHT OUTSIDE.
 
THIS SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORM MAY ALSO CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
STREAMS...LOW AREAS...AND UNDERPASSES.
