THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 700 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTY
IN THE SOUTHEAST PART OF KANSAS
CHAUTAUQUA
AT 556 PM CDT RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 15 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF SEDAN. THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST
AT 25 MPH. SOME CITIES IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM ARE SEDAN AND HALE.
IF YOU ARE IN AN AREA THREATENED BY THE STORM...GO TO A
REINFORCED SHELTER AND PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...
VERY HEAVY RAIN...AND LIGHTNING.

AT 530PM WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING JUST SOUTH OF THE KANSAS BORDER IN NORTHERN OKLAHOMA AND WERE 25 MILES SOUTHWEST OF ARKANSAS CITY TO JUST SOUTHEAST OF COFFEYVILLE. THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE MOVING NORTHEAST INTO EXTREME SOUTHERN KANSAS BY 545PM. ELAND
