000 TTAA00 KHOU 182142 TORHOU TXC339-182245- BULLETIN - EBS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON TX 441 PM CDT FRI MAY 18 1990 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HOUSTON HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 545 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTHEAST TEXAS ...MONTGOMERY COUNTY AT 435 PM CDT THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT REPORTED THAT TORNADOES HAD TOUCHED DOWN AT I45 AND NEADHAN RD SOUTH OF CONROE AND IN MONTGOMERY. RADAR SHOWS VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS IN THE CONROE AREA MOVING NORTHEAST 35 MPH. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT OUTSIDE...SEEK SHELTER IN A NEARBY REINFORCED BUILDING. AS A LAST RESORT...SEEK SHELTER IN A CULVERT...DITCH OR LOW SPOT AND COVER YOUR HEAD WITH YOUR HANDS.

AUSTIN... COLORADO... WASHINGTON... GRIMES... AND WALLER COUNTIES ARE IN THE WATCH AREA. THE TORNADO WATCH HAS BEEN CANCELED FOR FORT BEND AND WHARTON COUNTIES. RADAR SHOWS THAT THREATENING THUNDERTORMS HAVE MOVED NORTH AWAY FROM THAT AREA. AT 415 PM CDT RADAR SHOWS THAT STRONG THUNDERSTORMS EXTEND FROM NORTHWEST OF CONROE TO NAVASOTA. THE THUNDERSTORMS ARE MOVING NORTHEAST 35 MPH. EVERYONE IN THE WATCH AREA SHOULD REMAIN ALERT AND BE READY TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION IF THREATENING WEATHER IS SIGHTED OR WARNINGS ARE ISSUED FOR YOUR AREA.
