AT 340 THIS AFTERNOON RADAR SHOWED THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY
RAINS...DANGEROUS LIGHTNING AND SMALL HAIL IN PARTS OF THE SOUTHERN
PIEDMONT AND NORTHERN FOOTHILLS. THE HEAVIEST STORMS WERE OVER
EXTREME SOUTHERN CLEVELAND COUNTY, CENTRAL CATAWBA COUNTY, AND
SOUTHERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY. THE STORMS WERE MOVING SOUTHEAST AT ABOUT
15 MPH.

ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING OVER NORRTHWESTERN PARTS OF
SOUTH CAROLINA.

SHOULD THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOP WITHIN YOUR IMMEDIATE VICINITY...GO
IMMEDIATELY TO A PLACE OF SAFETY.  PLEASE RELAY ANY REPORTS OF
WEATHER RELATED DAMAGES TO THE NEAREST LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY AND ASK

AT 410 PM EDT WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUING
TO DEVELOPE OVER THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS OF WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA.
ONE PARTICULARLY STRONG STORM WAS LOCATED IN EXTREME SOUTHERN HENDERSON
COUNTY NEAR THE SOUTH CAROLINA LINE. ALSO NOTED BY RADAR WAS A LINE OF
THUNDERSTORMS STRETCHING FROM SOUTHERN WEST VIRGINIA..DOWN THROUGH
EASTERN TENNESSE..THEN INTO NORTHWEST GEORGIA. THESE STORMS WILL BEGIN
AFFECT WEST NORTH CAROLINA WITHIN THE HOUR. MOVEMENT OF THE STORMS WAS
TOWARD THE EASTSOUTHEAST AT 15 MPH.

STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING ARE ASSOCIATED WITH THESE
STORMS IN ADDITION TO THE HEAVY DOWNPOURS AND POSSIBLY SOME SMALL HAIL.
