THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 630 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING
COUNTIES
IN THE NORTHWEST PART OF KANSAS
EASTERN SHERMAN...THOMAS
AT 5 17 PM MDT..A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM MOVED ACROSS THE
AIRPORT IN GOODLAND KANSAS. THE STORM WAS HIGH LEVEL WITH
ONLY A FEW SPRINKLES NOTED..BUT THE WINDS GUSTED TO 63 MPH.
PERSONS IN EASTERN SHERMAN AND MOST OF THOMAS COUNTIES SHOULD
BE ALERT TO THIS STORM AS IT MOVES TO THE EAST AT 25 MPH.
THE GUSTY WINDS WILL PICK UP CONSIDERABLE DUST AND MAY CAUSE
THE VISIBILITY TO BE RESTIRCTED.
IF YOU ARE IN AN AREA THREATENED BY THE STORM..GO TO A REINFORCED
SHELTER AND PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WINDS..LARGE HAIL..VERY HEAVY

KSZ001-252220- SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GOODLAND KS 325 PM MDT MON JUN 25 1990 AT 320 PM MDT..RADAR INDICATED A 30 MILE WIDE BAND OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM 110 MILE SOUTHWEST OF GOODLAND TO 110 MILES NORTHEAST OF GOODLAND. MOST OF THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE IN COLORADO AND SOUTHWEST NEBRAKSA..ALTHOUGH THE STORMS WERE MOVING INTO NORTHWEST CHEYENNE COUNTY OF NORTHWEST KANSAS AT 320 PM. THE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 20 MPH AND SHOULD MOVE INTO WESTERN SHERMAN AND NORTHWEST WALLACE COUNTIES OF NORTHWEST KANSAS BY 3 45 PM MDT. DORSEY

ONE THUNDERSTORM WAS NOTED OVER WESTERN SHERMAN COUNTY ABOUT 12 MILES WEST OF GOODLAND. THE SHOWERS AND LONE STORM ARE ALL HIGH LEVEL WITH MOST PRECIPITATON EVAPORATING BEFORE REACHING THE GROUND. THE PRECIPITATION WAS MOVING TO THE EAST AT 20 MPH WITH NO SEVERE WEATHER REPORTED OR EXPECTED WITH THESE STORMS. ..NOTE..THIS WILL BE THE LAST STATEMENT FROM GOODLAND ON THESE SHOWERS.. DORSEY
